Diagnosis: Cancer of upper throat and part of tounge
Chemo Drugs: None
Treatment: Surgery on throat and tounge. Thirty six horrible radiation treetments. Removed all teeth due to radiation damage to small blood vesells to teeth.I had thirty oxegan thearphy treetments, to help prevent a desease caused by radiation to my jaw'. [[ Name unknown ]]
Quality of Life: Most of my salavia glands were destroyed. I have to carry water all the time to keep mouth moist. I lost a lot of weight. I manage to eat. But can't chew anything. At 77 I'm doing pretty good. I'll have to learn to use my new teeth soon. I at first lost my taste buds, and my desire for food. But they both came back, and now I can eat. I had problem eating hot saulsa but getting back to normal now. I had my surgery in Dec. 1999. Radiation starting in Jan 2000. Finished April 4th 2000. I had the best nurse possible , my sweet wife of over forty years. We always went to the desert for the winter. Last two years had to stay home. Hoping to go this year after Christmas 2001 GOD BLESS

General Comments: I'M VERY THANKFUL THAT MY CANCER IS GONE [ TESTS HAVE CONTINUED TO BE NEGATIVE]I GIVE ALL THE GLORY TO MY LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS. HE ASSURED ME WHEN I WAS INFORMED OF THE CANCER NOT TO WORRY FOR HE HAD EVERYTHING UNDER CONTROL MY LIFE IS DIFFERENT BUT MANAGABLE I GET NEW TEETH SOON, DON'T KNOW IF I'LL LIKE THAT.
