Cancer Type: THROAT
Diagnosis: I was just diagnosed with carsinoma insitu of the vocal chords. I am 30 years old. They removed the cancer by doing a vocal chrod stripping surgery last February, but when I went in to see the specialists he checked my throat again and found another abnormality. Less then 48 hours later I was in surgery again for vocal chord stripping and biopsy which came back as cancer AGAIN. I was told the first time that it would be rare for the cancer to return but here I go again.
Chemo Drugs: No chemo.
Treatment: So far we are just watching it to see of it returns a 3rd time. If it does return then I have to have radiation. My doctor is avoiding the radiation treatment for now because of my age and the damage it may cause to my salvary glands and my voice.
Quality of Life: I am married with 2 children ages 9 and 10. My life is going very well, I have no symptoms of the cancer except for a hoarse voice. I am hoping this was caught early enough so the quality of my life stays this way.
Information Gathering: I have searched the internet for an online chat and I have found several and there never seems to be anyone there!
General Comments: Stay tough guys!
