My mother had a sore on her tongue that would not go away, so she went to an ENT to see about it. He put her on anti-biotics and it continued and continued and he still did nothing, but treat her with anti-biotics. I became furious when he prescribed another anti-biotic for her and he then sent her to have a cat scan. Sure enough he told her she would have to have surgery immediately. She had surgery and he was to do a cat scan and he claimed that it wasn't cancer from the scan. Well sure enough it was. Still not listening to me my mother kept going to the ENT, who did nothing. Finially after getting tired of hearing me tell her to see an oncologist because her mouth wasn't better, she went. Sure enough she had cancer and it was getting worse. I remember asking the oncologist why the ENT left this go on for so long. All she could say was I needed to ask him that question. My mother was put in the hospital for radical chemo. She did that for two treatments at two weeks full chemo each day. She is now going to start Radiation this Friday and I am scared.
