Cancer Type: THROAT
Diagnosis: My husband, 62 at the time was diagonsed with throat cancer. It was on his
voice box. He had a sore throat and his voice was hoarse. The dr ran
a scope down his throat and immediately sent him to a cancer dr. The ent
took out some lymp lodes and later chemo and radiation was started. His
neck area was so burned from radiation that from the scar tissue was so
bad it close up his esophagus and he can no longer eat or drink by mouth.
He will have to have a feeding tube the rest of his life. We went to a
ent specialist in Galveston and the did get through with a small hole, but
it closed up again. Thank God he still has his voice and his airways are clear
and is cancer free. He is going to have a P E T scan next week and
hopefully it will be clear . this happened almost 2 yrs ago.He had a P E T
scan about 7 mo. ago and it clear then. so we will see. Has anyone out there
heard of this happenning to anyone?
