Cancer Type: MOUTH
Diagnosis: My brother smoked and drank heavily for many years and 9 mos ago (age 54) was diagnosed with mouth cancer. They removed a lymph node and part of his tongue. He suffered terribly and had trouble swallowing, eating, tasting, etc. His wife of age 49 is dying too of late stage inoperable colon cancer.
This week we learned that his is spreading now too instead of gone----and is in his throat and neck -----inoperable. I am sick with grief and he is depressed and unwilling to talk to a counselor or gather the needed stregth to live, it seems right now. (Our mom died of lung cancer in 1995 after 50 yrs of smoking. ) He refuses family visits and next week will go for some rather odd 5 day hosp. procedure with a catheter and some toxic crap in it and chemo????? I am so lost. I am so sad at his pain and obvious fear. And when he looks around at his home in Pittsburgh- there is his wife dying too. Please pray for Lennie and Maggie. Two very good hearted people living in hell.
