Cancer Type: UTERINE
Diagnosis: Uterine cancer stage 3c at 25 yrs of age. I was diagnosed March 5, 2003. I completed my last chemo end of Oct. 2003. I was in shock and so were the doctors.
Chemo Drugs: Cisplatin, Taxol, Carboplatin, and Taxotere.
Treatment: I had first surgery to remove football sized tumor. Second surgery consisted of Total hysterectomy along with staging. Followed by extended field radiation with Cisplatin and then High dose internal radiation. Then continued on 6 cycles of Taxol and Carboplatin and had to be switched to Taxotere in later stages due to neuropathy. I had to stop before completion of last two chemos due to very low blood counts. I had a total of 8 chemos along with steroids.
Quality of Life: I worry alot about the cancer coming back. I also feel sad because I will never have any children of my own. I don't feel like or look like the person I used to be.
Information Gathering: Surfing the net. Reading about other peoples experiences.
General Comments: I am thankful to be alive, but I honestly enjoyed my life alot more before I was ever diagnosed.
