You didn't need to log in with a password until recently, but about a year ago some people (difficult to accept such soul-less types exist) started hurling very unpleasant postings into the cancer experiences database: Spammers! So now I have this simple login, requesting your email address, and letting you create your own password. As soon as you ceate the password login above you will automatically be logged in, and can add experience notes - you don't have to wait for email confirmation or anything else. If you forget your password, you can retrieve it by simply entering your name and email address in the "Forget Your Password" box above, and your password will be emailed to you.
This new login procedure seems to be keeping the spammers out, and an added feature provided by a login is that when you return all of your Shared Experience notes are gathered together for you in the "My Experiences" on the left side menu (very appreciative thanks to Merritt for the LASSO work!). Give it a try!
I assure you we will never, ever give out your email address to anyone, it will be used with your password solely for the purposes of remembering you when you return to this website.
Whoever you are reading this now, thank you for taking the time to write a few words about your experience. A few years ago a woman from England, doing PhD work, contacted a large group of people who had left their email addresses with their postings on Shared Experience and I was encouraged to hear that many people had contacted each other through the site. I hope you'll help others and find those who can be of some help to you. If you leave some footprints on your search for answers, others may more easily follow the same trail.
