The NABCO listing (http://www.nabco.org/) that follows is principally regional support groups for cancer and breast cancer patients, many of which offer services free of charge. Listing is by State.
ACOR (Assoc. of Cancer On-line Resources) - A very large listing of "email exchange groups" called LISTSERVs, all on specific types of cancer and cancer issues.
Coming to New York City? Miracle House (www.miraclehouse.org) provides housing and support ( in New York City) to the visiting family and friends of people living with Cancer and AIDS. Whether someone is coming to visit an ill loved one or accompany someone who is undergoing surgery or treatment at one of the NY hospitals, Miracle House can provide a wonderful home away from home. They provide volunteers who can help with practical and emotional matters, a breakfast support group each morning as well as a beautiful, comfortable and supportive enviroment to stay.
US Too: "US TOO is an independent network of support group chapters for men with prostate cancer and their families. US TOO groups offer fellowship, peer counseling, education about treatment options, and discussion of medical alternatives without bias. One of our goals is to foster public awareness of prostate disease."
